Home automation ensures your household runs more efficiently—automatically. By integrating PowerView® Automation with a compatible smart-home system, you can synchronize your technologies for maximum convenience.
Want to save energy on a hot, sunny day? A home-automation system can detect a temperature rise with your thermostat. The system will then close your shades to keep heat out and switch off the lights so you don’t pay extra for energy.
Want an added level of security? The same system can close your shades, lock the doors and arm the security system when you say, “Alexa, it’s bedtime.”
Because each home-automation system is different, we’ve detailed the specific guidelines and requirements below to make syncing with PowerView straightforward and stress-free.
VOICE CONTROL
Operating your PowerView shades just got even easier. Use Siri® on your iPhone®, iPad® or HomePod™ to operate individual shades or Scenes hands-free. Voice-activate your Scenes using Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant. Learn how below.
Activate PowerView shades or scenes with a simple voice command. Try saying, “Alexa, open Bedroom Left,” “Alexa, close Living Room,” or “Alexa, turn on Good Morning.”
Enable this feature directly in the PowerView App. Please note: A PowerView Gateway is required to integrate with Amazon Alexa.
Apple® HomeKit™ compatibility is on the way, so please stay tuned.
The Google Assistant, powered by Google Home, makes it easy to control shades individually or through scenes. Plus, Google Home distinguishes your voice from others in your home, creating an even more personalized experience.
Try saying, “OK Google, tilt Sun Room to 25 percent,” “OK Google, open Bedroom Left,” or “Hey, Google, close the shades.”
Please note: In order to enable Google Assistant, you’ll need a PowerView Gateway and a device enabled with the Google Assistant connected to your Google account.
